Legal Status of Human Development Organization

Not-profit Organization, registered under SOCIETIES REGISTRATION Act of 1860 and also with FATA Directorate of Social Welfare and Registration and Control Ordinance 1961. Grant of “Allowed To Work Status” by Government of Pakistan States & Frontier Regions Division 9 December, 2013.


Human Development Organization (HDO) is a Non-Governmental and Non-profit organization has been established in January 2007 with the aim of Community development across Pakistan in general and KPK and FATA regions in Particular without any discrimination of race, caste, religion, culture and social status of residents among society.

HDO is registered organization under Pakistani Laws Registered under Society Act 1860 and registered with FATA Directorate of Social Welfare under Control Ordinance 1961.

Human Development organization (HDO) intends to work for poor of the poorest and vulnerable groups in the areas of FATA and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) in Pakistan. Since its HDO commencement community based Education and Socio-Economic Development through agriculture are the major agenda for the ultimate alleviation of poverty in the society.

Community Organization/ mobilization and Human Resource development are the key tools for sustainability and valuable working of Human Development Organization.

HDO has strong presence in southern part of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA. HDO has ample outreach to the target group, civil society, academia, private sector local government institutions and relevant officials in the proposed geographical location. The organization has already a necessary infrastructure to effectively implement the activities in the proposed geographical area. In addition, HDO has an efficient staff and well organized policies for the implementation of project activities. Every year external audit is conducted for accountability to its stake holders. The organization also has its operational offices in District Bannu north Waziristan Agency and DI Khan with all required facilities and IT support.

HDO at present striving is to address the problems of marginalized communities of FATA especially North Waziristan agency and southern part of KP by involving them into productive activities and programs to alleviate poverty and enhance economic growth.

HDO believes that development needs integrated approach. If we talk about poverty reduction or gender and development or sustainable livelihood whatever we say we cannot achieve our goal of having happy and healthy life unless and until we promote integrated approach. In order to have sustainable development we cannot segregate the sectors and their link to support each other. Working in a single sector we may achieve some growth in one of the sector but we cannot claim overall sustainable development unless and until we work both at micro and macro levels.
