Education is the back bone of development and plays a pivotal role in bringing peace and social change. Education helps children to acquire knowledge, skills and attitudes that will be useful throughout their lives. On the other hand un-education means unrest, extremism, dacoit and pessimisms etc. Unfortunately, education is the most ignored sector all over the Pakistan in general and in ex-FATA and District Bannu particular. Although educational institutions have been built in government sector but the vital factor still disappears in this institution is its maintenance. It is estimated that Pakistan has almost 5.5 million children that are out of school, the second highest number in the world. Pakistan also has the highest number of lliterate adults in the world. One reason of all these must be worst condition of school building. HDO works to ensure that all children get access to good quality education by tackling poverty, training teachers, reconstruction educational institution. HDO believes that if proper funding and supports from the assistance communities and donor institution handed over all sort of potential will be utilized by HDO management through collaboration with government and takeholders for sustainability and participatory approaches.
Initially HDO plan to reconstruct 12 rooms with boundary wall, washroom block and drinking water supply scheme in one middle school. This is the only school in worst condition in the area and 350 students are enrolled. We expect that by reconstruction the strength will increase to about 1000. So we want to collect $ 150,000 to help the young blood and to keep them away from extremist and fundamentalist group.
