Project Objectives,Outcomes and list of major activities (Not more than 500 words)

 

Project Objectives:

 

  1. To strengthen citizens’ voice through, among others, public awareness and voters’ education initiatives, oversight of relevant public bodies and/or advocacy for reforming relevant laws, policies, practices or public attitudes for free, fair and peaceful elections.
  2. To strengthen public accountability in election related matters through, among others, raising questions, seeking explanations, developing requisite capacities and filing complaints at appropriate forums.

 

Project Outcomes:

 

After huge mobilization the turn out on these polling stations were increased from 3 to 5 %. In merely three months campaigning and advocacy, getting such impressive results is a big achievement. The focused area of district Bannu which is surrounded by FATA and where the extremism factor is very high and that no other CSO or agency had focused on voters’ education and mobilization for increased turnout.

  3. Social mobilization by Door to Door Visits and Corner Meetings

  5. Establishment of Stalls for Voters Awareness
  6. Advocacy Meetings with Relevant Local Authorities
  7. Letters to various stakeholders, political leadership/candidates, local and higher authorities to demand corrective measures
  8. Public Events i.e. Seminars on Barriers to Voting
  9. Public Events i.e. Press Conference on Barriers to Voting (Pre-Election)
  10. Letters to candidates or the respective Party leaders to Advocating for Specific Commitments by Candidates and/ or Political Parties
  11. Candidates Forum
  12. Personal meetings with candidates of relevant national and provincial assembly seats, to listen their complaints about the election
  13. Seminar On Electoral Dispute Resolution (EDR)
  14. Meetings with concerned legislators and officials to demand reforms (Post Election)
